Here at Dance Fusion Studios we provide an environment for all ages and styles of dance to feel more confident in finding their inner dancer no matter their level of experience. Educating through structured movement, fun, and expression. With our staff’s professional knowledge and training, we are able to provide extensive knowledge and skills to help build your dance technique and confidence. Our main goal is to not only help those who walk through our doors have a better understanding of dance, but to leave feeling empowered and stronger through self growth, building confidence, and life skills to become better human beings as well as better dancers!

SHOWS

Every Fall Session we will have a show in December and every Spring Session we will have a show in June. Our shows are a big part of our studio. Our staff puts a lot of love and hard work in to creating FULL theatrical productions, with original and creative storylines to bring our students a professional-like performing experience. Our show preparation throughout each session provides exceptional knowledge, training, technique development, and experience for our students. We also want our shows to be an enjoyable experience for the whole community of Kauai, whether you are an adult that wants to get involved in performing with our shows or you want to come watch!

Students who want to partake in our shows must be enrolled in the class/classes of their choice for that specific session (either Fall or Spring Session). Attendance is important in our classes not only for the students growth and development in class, but for our show preparation. If students excessively miss class, it could result in them not being able to perform. Every show will have MANDATORY rehearsals in the theater the day/days before the show, in which those dates will always be posted on our website and app under “Studio Calendar” tab.

DANCE COMPANY

Our Dance Company is an elite group within our studio, created for students who are committed to their growth in dance and wanting more training to improve technically, while being provided with a wider range of opportunities and experiences! Our Dance Company will be opened to ages 8 years old to 18 years old, from beginning to advance levels. Being a part of our Company is a year long commitment that begins with our Summer Session and goes to the end of our Spring Session (June to June each year). We will still have all of our regular classes for any student to take, but our Company students will have their own private weekly company class, (along with their other required weekly classes listed below) that will provide them with more personal dance training to improve their overall technique while creating more opportunities for them with community performances, show performances, and competition dances at the Jump Dance Convention in Oahu, plus building life long friendships and bonds with their fellow company classmates.

For those of you that don’t want to participate in our Company, don’t worry, nothing will change for you! All students will still be able to take any of our classes. participate in shows, and attend the Jump Dance Convention (for the classes only), per usual!

REQUIREMENTS FOR BEING IN OUR DANCE COMPANY:

DANCE EXPERIENCE & AGES: While our Dance Company is a program that provides our students with attentive professional training to increase their growth through dance, students are required to enter the Dance Company with some prior dance training and foundation/knowledge of basic dance steps and positions. Students MUST be 8 years old by the audition date in order to attend auditions and participate in Company.
ATTENDANCE/COMMITMENT: Our Dance Company requires a commitment for a full year, starting in the Summer Session (June) and ending after the Spring Session (June). Being a member of a dance company is a privilege and comes with responsibility. Personal accountability is essential for a successful season, and commitment to your other company members and yourself is a vital component of this success. When a member of the company is not present, it can negatively impact your entire team. Regular attendance in all classes is expected of Company Members, excess absences from ANY one dance class may be cause for dismissal from the Company.
Required weekly classes for the SUMMER Session: Ballet Class and one other class of their choice. Please Note: We understand that summer is a time for travel and altered schedules, so we provide an option for students that are not able to physically be in classes for the full 5 weeks of the summer session. Company students are required to pay for the two weekly required summer session classes regardless of their attendance.
Required weekly classes for the FALL Session: One Company Class on Fridays, plus Ballet Class, Lyrical Class, and Hip Hop Class.
Required weekly classes for the SPRING Session: One Company Class on Fridays, plus Ballet Class, Lyrical Class, and Hip Hop Class.
ALL Company members will be able to take ANY additional classes on top of their 4 required weekly classes at a flat discounted rate!
PERFORMANCES: ALL Company members are required to participate in our two productions each season, which take place in December and June of each company season. There are occasions when our company teams are asked to perform at local events. We will make sure to provide ample notice of dates for these events as well as notification of any additional rehearsals. These events are always a fun, educational, and team building experience.
COURTESY & RESPECT: All Company members will be held to the highest standards of conduct. Communicating negatively about anyone in or outside of the studio will not be tolerated under any circumstance. Company Members are expected to show courtesy and respect to all instructors and other students. Any student who exhibits repeated negative or disrespectful behavior will be asked to leave the company. Company members should always be respectful, supportive, encouraging, and exhibit a positive attitude and behavior.
JUMP DANCE CONVENTION IN OAHU: Each Company member will be required to attend the Jump Dance Convention in Oahu each season, which takes place in May each year. All Company levels will be participating in a dance (or dances) in the competition portion of the convention, as well as the convention classes. Only the Company Level 2 students will be permitted to enter any solo or duet dances, per the approval from the Director)

AUDITION INFORMATION:

Our Dance Company is invitation only, in which all interested students must attend our audition which takes place in May fo each year. The audition is FREE for ALL students, but you MUST sign up online in order to attend! Walk-ins will not be permitted to attend the audition!

The age ranges for each specific level are suggestions based on our experience, please make sure you are arriving to the audition level that is best suitable for your current technical dance ability. If you are unsure of which level might be best, please contact our studio via phone or email for proper assistance. Students MUST be 8 years old by the audition date in order to attend the audition!

It is imperative that students arrive to auditions ON-TIME and prepared. Students will be allowed in the studio to get checked in and ready 10 min before each levels starting audition time. Please bring your own water bottle and dance shoes/attire listed below. All students hair should be pulled back neatly out of face upon arrival. Please do not wear any loose hanging jewelry or accessories.

ALL students will be doing a ballet based warm-up, along with learning Lyrical Dance Choreography and Hip Hop Dance Choreography. Students should arrive with leggings and a form fitting tank top or sports bra top on. Loose hanging clothing will not be permitted. Students are required to bring Ballet Shoes, Turners (half-sole shoes for Lyrical), and sneakers.

JUMP DANCE CONVENTION IN OAHU!

Every year our studio attends the Jump Dance Convention in Oahu, which takes place in May of each year! There are a few rules and requirements in order to attend and we will list those below for you. We will also share other information below regarding the convention for those that are not familiar with this event.

Our goal as a studio when attending the Jump Dance Convention is for our students to gain new skills from world renowned choreographers, gain confidence in themselves and confidence in dancing with students outside of their studio, learn from students around them, gain the understanding of supporting and encouraging those around them, while creating incredible memories that will last a lifetime!

Please understand that we will be attending this Convention as a group and a representation of Dance Fusion Studios, which means parents and students are expected to be on their best behavior at all times. We want this to be a fun, exciting, and growing experience for all of our students, while being supportive and encouraging of those around us.

If this is your child’s first time in a dance convention setting, it is important that they understand to have fun and not give up on themselves. We encourage them to step out of their comfort zones and try a new style and to keep going even if the steps feel challenging, these are the best ways we as dancers can grow. It’s never about being the best dancer in the room or even “keeping up” with those around you, it’s about improving YOURSELF as a dancer and having fun!

RULES AND REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATING

You must be ENROLLED in at least one class at our studio during the Spring 2026 Session.
You must participate in the entire Spring 2026 Session.
You must be at least 5 years old by January 1st, 2026. (There are no exceptions, as this is a requirement of the dance convention, not ours)
There will be a Dance Fusion Studios shirt you will need to purchase ($25) to wear upon arrival at the convention (you do not need to wear this shirt throughout the whole convention). Details for the shirt will be given upon confirmation of attendance. Parents are welcome to purchase shirts/sweatshirts for themselves as well, but it is not required. Only students are required to purchase a t-shirt.
Students and parents are responsible for their own rooming and travel accommodations. All children who are attending MUST have an adult guardian responsible for them. We will not be responsible for the whereabouts of all our students during this convention since there are multiple levels of dance offered, in which our students would be separated into different rooms based on ages, which is why it is important that there are parents/adults to watch over each child. (Parents are not allowed inside the actual ballrooms during classes unless they purchase a “observers” pass, which is $55, otherwise parents will wait outside in the waiting areas of the venue.)

JUMP DANCE CONVENTION INFORMATION

CONVENTION LOCATION & DATES:

Hawaii Convention Center in Oahu – Friday May 22nd, 2026 to Sunday May 24th, 2026 (This convention offers 2 full days of various dance classes (Friday is the check-in/intro day), in all styles and levels, from world renowned choreographers. They will get to experience a wide range of dance styles, learn about auditioning, and many other skills provided by the Jump Convention Faculty.)

Parent Observer Pass $55 (this is needed for parents that want to watch the dance classes)

FEE DUE DATE:

Fees are due to us by Monday March 23rd, 2026. Payment should be turned in at the studio via cash ONLY.

HOTEL:

We highly encourage staying in the Ala Moana Hotel since it is directly across the street from the Convention Center, and where we will be meeting each morning to walk over together. Please plan your time accordingly if you are staying somewhere else.
